Synchronize 2013

Rules and Regulations of Events
IT Manager
 It is an individual event. There is no restriction on the number of students participating from a group.
 There will be four rounds - Aptitude Test, GD Round, Stress Task, HR Round.
 Shortlisted members from each round will go to the next round.
 Three members are Shortlisted for the final HR Round.
 Final interview includes Technical, General HR and Stress questions.

IT quiz
 Two members per team. No restriction on the number of teams from a group.
 There will be a preliminary round - written test for 30 minutes for prelims.
 The Qualifying 4 teams will go for the finals.
 Change of partners not allowed.
 Highest scoring team from each group goes to the final.

Lecture Contest
 Two members per team. No restriction on the number of teams from a group.
 Topics can be selected from any of the streams.
(Computer Science /Electronics/Mathematics/Statistics).
 Each team is requested to submit a 2 page synopsis of their topic of interest on or before 12th August 2013 to the staff coordinator of the group failing which their candidature will not be considered.
 Four teams will be qualified for the final round.
 10(7+3) minutes for presentation. Each participant in a team should present for 7 minutes and 3 minutes for question answer session.
 Change of partners not allowed.

Coding and debugging
 Two members per team. No restriction on the number of teams from a group.
 A preliminary round - Multiple choice questions from C Programming Language will be conducted for 30 minutes.
 Ten teams will be shortlisted for the final round.
 Change of partners not allowed.
 No extra time will be given.

Web Designing
 Two members per team. Maximum of 8 teams from a group.
 Images and theme will be provided on the spot.
 No preliminary rounds.
 The final round is conducted for 60 minutes.
 No extra time will be given.


Google Hunt
 Two members per team. No restriction on the number of teams from a group.
 Duration of event: 90 minutes
 A preliminary round – outdoor activity will be conducted.
 Ten teams will be shortlisted for the final round.
 Each level provides an answer. The Previous level answer is the clue for the current level.
 Participants should report to the event coordinators as soon as they finish finding the final clue.

Morphing
 Two members per team. Maximum of 8 teams per group.
 Software used – Adobe Photoshop.
 Time limit will be 1 hour. No extra time will be provided.
 There will be only one final round.
 Images will be given on the spot.

Video Editing & Photography
 Two members in a team. Maximum of 8 teams per group.
 Each team has to create a 1 minute advertisement video.
 Duration for editing video will be 90 minutes.
 Rushes should be captured by the participants themselves and not edited or downloaded.
 The captured unedited rushes should be submitted to the event staff coordinator on 26th August 2013.The same unedited rushes will be given on 29th August 2013 as input.  The final video created should be submitted to the event coordinators.
 Participants have to bring speakers or headphones and are allowed to use their own laptops with necessary softwares.

Product launch
 Only one team per group. 7 members per team.
 Total time for 1 team will be 5+1 minutes.
 The team has to enact like an advertisement on the stage for the stipulated time.  Supportive power point presentations are welcome.
 Products should be strictly innovative and related to IT.
 For advertisement, at least 5 members must be on the stage. Narration and background music is allowed (without lyrics)
 Vulgarity in any form will lead to disqualification.

Math Event
 Two members per team. Any number of students can participate from each group.
 There will be only  one round – for 60 minutes
 Calculators are not allowed.
 No extra time will be provided for the late comers.

Stat Event
 Two members per team. No restriction on participation.
 There will be only a final round- for 90 minutes.
 Chart Paper and Computer will be provided.
 Participants are allowed to take printouts in the Lab
 The reader should be able to discover the story behind the data by following the logical progression of the poster.
 Participants should bring the calculator and required stationaries.
 Interpretation and conclusion are necessary.
 Reader should be able to discover the story behind the data and conclusion by looking at the poster.

Fuzzy logic
1. Two students in a team (1 B.Sc + 1 BCA) compulsory, any number of teams can participate.
2. It consists of three rounds
Round 1: word search (10 mins)
Round2: Visual round (10 mins)
Round 3: Technical (20 mins)
Final Round: rapid fire
3. Round1: students should search for the electronics word from the given question pattern in 10 mins. Top 15 teams will be eligible for the second round.
4. Round 2: it is visual round, where the questions will be based on the picture/video shown. Top 10 teams will be eligible for the third round.
5. Round3: it is circuit analysis round, where the teams should construct the given digital circuit on the trainer kit and get the output at the earliest. Top 5 teams will be eligible for the Final round.
6. Round4: here, the teams should try to answer the maximum questions in 5 mins

Gaming
 It is an Individual event. No restriction on participation.
 There will be a preliminary round. Qualified 16 participants go to the final round. The final round will be for 60 minutes.
 Any kind of Cheat code will lead to disqualification of the participant.

Tech Crack
 Two students per team. Any number of teams can participate from each group.
 A preliminary round – Crossword will be conducted for 30 minutes.
 Final round will have a dumb charade and JAM round.

IT Marketing

 It is an Individual event. No restriction on participation.
 There will be any preliminary round for the event for 30 minutes.
 One qualified participant per group will go to the final round where the participant has to market an IT product (imaginary/existing) highlighting its features for 5 minutes.          
 Product may be a software/hardware/technology updates/Operating systems etc.
